I have so much good to say about this week. Evan is easily my new best friend. I have a new vocal mentor. Maria got us tickets to see motionless in two days. Life is at an all time high!
The night Evan and I wrote "Your Wolf" I truly got to see how amazing music is! Evan is very poetic. He's got a unique friendship with words that I got the pleasure to learn from. He also has the incredible ability to scream. It's super awesome! I, on the other hand, have always been a 'say it how it is' writer. In that sense my writing always seemed a little flat. However, I can write a melody like nobodies business. Between the two of us I watched miracles occur. Every note was sang as if crafted by gods. Of course we aren't gods, but in those moments you couldn't tell simply because those moments were righteous with something I can't even describe! We wrote lyrics and melodies all night not because we needed to but because we wanted to. There was no plan. No A or B. Because, it wasn't necessary. We came together like two hands folded in content. And I learned what it truly means to feel alive. As we finished the song for the first time all I could think is, "We are infinite." ~Perks of Being a Wallflower. Evan is an amazing guy. Honestly, I've never met someone so cool and laid back. He sees things as they are not as they are put out to be. And he has an appreciation for everything he's given.
Evan called me for an escape. Instead I got one. I was free from schedule and it made my music free too. So thanks Evan, I owe you the world but you're going to have to settle with just my friendship bud. :)
So there you have it guys. You can't plan things in straight lines from A to B. You can pick a B you can start at an A but everything in between will fall however it wants. In the end it's all about how you handle the change you will inevitably face and you know what? I'm okay with that.
Rock On,
Alexander
